WELCOME IN THE MAY BUT STAY SAFE AND STAY WELL!

Big City Productions is situated within the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.

Here we are in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic. We want to send you our hopes that you are safe and sound and that this will pass sooner rather than later. Please remember to:

  • Stay at home when you’re sick, even if symptoms are mild
  • Avoid crowded places. This includes play dates, group walks, basketball games and gathering on the beach
  • Take care of your mental well-being by checking in with loved ones and practicing self-care
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow or sleeve
  • Wash your hands regularly

SCI-FI PODCAST LINKS
Chronolord recently recorded a two-part Sci-fi Podcast, in which Andy Cooke and Tim Readman from the band talk about their science fiction influences in popular culture and in Chronolord’s music.

In part one they talk about sci-fi TV, movies and books. You can find it here.

In part two they talk about sci-fi influences in lyrics, space rock bands, album artwork and what the lyrical narrative influences were for the album, the Cuckoo Gene. It also includes Tim’s guide to ornithology – specifically the cuckoo (more than just a pretty bird!). You can find it here.

TIM READMAN EURO TOUR 2020 CANCELLED

We are sorry to say, but also know you won’t be at all surprised to hear, that Tim’s tour in Europe this May/June has been cancelled. On the positive side most of the dates hadn’t been finalized so there’s no great loss there but we will miss being in France, Switzerland and the UK a great deal! We’ll be back as soon as that is possible. We even had a new tour bus lined up! Oh well, maybe next time!

NEW FEAR OF DRINKING ALBUM

Following a successful tour on Vancouver Island in February, Fear of Drinking – featuring Tim (guitar and vocals), Gerard Kerr (guitar and vocals) and Tom Neville (fiddle, mandolin and vocals) – have begun work on a new album. There’s been quite a few phone and Zoom conversations and the songs have now been picked. Recording will have to wait until the pandemic is over, but pre-production on the material has already begun. Speaking of Fear of Drinking we got this photo of the Maple Leaf Matterhorn from Alan Millen in Zurich which would definitely have become the cover for the recent Fear of Drinking Live in Zurich album, if it had been available then!
