A very Happy Canada Day to each and every one of you. Thanks for having me Canada!
Tim will be performing solo and MC-ing at Mission Folk Festival July 26-28th, playing solo at Vancouver’s Jericho Folk Club on July 30th – with Vostok on harmony vocals on a few songs and taking the stage in a trio at Harmony Arts Festival on August 4th with Jennie Bice on fiddle and Allan Dionne on accordion and percussion. Details of all the shows are here.
Tim’s French debut at L’auberge Sans Frontières in Dégagnac was a roaring success, which has led to local promoter Marvin Cavenez suggesting more dates for next spring in La Belle France. Opening act Out on a Limb with Anne and Katie Stirling did sterling work accompanied by Tim on guitar and returned the compliment later in the evening by providing backing vocals on the closing numbers of Tim’s set. We’re hoping the proposed return transpires as spending more time in the Lot/Midi-Pyrenees region is a most appealing and appetizing prospect! Meanwhile here’s some pics from the night at the Auberge including our sweet green ride!
Hither and Yon
We are back recording this week with Bill Buckingham at Palace Studios in East Vancouver for the new Eventually Brothers album with multi-instrumentalist Craig McKerron (pictured below with Tim) who’ll be laying down mandolin, slide guitar and banjo tracks on a few songs. We’re all looking forward to working together again and hearing Craig do his thing – as only he can! Tentative release date is October 2019. Watch this space for details.
Alan Millen got in touch to say “I just uploaded this to YouTube – it might jog a few memories for my fellow North Americans”. The ‘this’ to which he is referring is a video for Have a Popsicle, Pete – which is very fitting in today’s sweltering temperatures in Vancouver.
